OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports Gains Two New Fellowship-Trained Surgeons

Scott G. Morris, M.D., fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon, and Scott P. Orr, M.D., fellowship-trained adult reconstruction surgeon, have recently joined the team of experts at OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports. Both doctors are available to see patients at the practice’s Birmingham office, located at 1801 Gadsden Highway, and Hoover office, located at 118 Mars Hill Road. As fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Morris and Dr. Orr are experts at providing nonsurgical and surgical treatment for bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions. Dr. Morris is a highly skilled foot and ankle surgeon whose areas of expertise include a multitude of foot and ankle surgeries, fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, injections, inserts, braces and prosthetics. Dr. Orr specializes in adult reconstruction and the management of degenerative joint conditions. He is an expert at treating periprosthetic joint infections; providing orthopedic trauma and fracture care; and performing a variety of advanced procedures, including hip and knee revision surgery, anterior hip replacement and partial and total knee replacement.

Dr. Morris received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed a general surgery internship at Baptist Medical Centers and his residency training in orthopedic surgery at UAB Hospital. Dr. Morris underwent extensive specialty training after residency by completing a fellowship in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery at Baylor University and the University of Texas in Dallas.

At The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, Dr. Orr earned his Doctor of Medicine degree as well as completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery. Following his residency, he underwent extensive specialty training through a fellowship in adult reconstruction surgery at the Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Jackson.
