At OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports, our specialty-trained doctors are dedicated experts who are committed to providing you with excellence in patient-centered orthopedic care.
Our practice was founded in 1987 by Dr. Perry Savage, an orthopedic surgeon with extensive knowledge and experience. He came to Birmingham, Alabama, from Piedmont to build a highly-skilled, family-centered orthopedic practice with leading experts from a variety of subspecialties within the field of orthopedics.
Since our founding, we have grown to include two state-of-the-art locations in Birmingham and Hoover, a wide array of in-house services, and multiple orthopedic specialties. Our orthopedic doctors proudly offer musculoskeletal care for injuries and conditions of the back, neck, and spine; elbow; foot and ankle; hand and wrist; hip; knee; and shoulder. They are also experts in interventional pain management, joint replacement and revision, orthopedic trauma, physical medicine and rehabilitation, rheumatology, and sports medicine.
However, even though we have expanded our offerings over the years, our main focus has always remained the same—providing patient-centered care.
Orthopedic Care Focused on You
Here at OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports, our entire orthopedic staff is dedicated to making sure you get the bone, joint, muscle, tendon, and ligament care you need and deserve. Our team consists of orthopedic surgeons, doctors, physician assistants, therapists, nurse practitioners, and support personnel who are all committed to working together to provide care that is focused on you and your needs.
Our orthopedic surgeons and doctors are highly skilled experts within the field of orthopedics as well as in orthopedic surgery. They specialize in evaluating, diagnosing, and providing surgical and nonsurgical care for a wide array of injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system, including sports injuries, trauma-related injuries, arthritis, fractures, and joint pain.
When it comes to finding the treatment option right for you, our team of fellowship-trained, specialtytrained, and board-certified orthopedic doctors and surgeons are devoted to partnering with you to create an individualized treatment plan. Our doctors will first exhaust all applicable conservative treatment options. However, if these treatment options prove to be unsuccessful for you, our surgeons may recommend a type of orthopedic surgery.
As highly skilled surgeons, our orthopedic surgeons specialize in a broad range of orthopedic surgeries, including joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and kyphoplasty as well as surgical fracture care. Our orthopedic surgeons will thoroughly explain all of the surgical procedures available and work with you to find the surgery right for you and your injury or condition.
