Fellowship-Trained Sports Medicine Surgeon & Trussville Native Joins OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports
Zane B. Hyde, M.D., fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon, has joined OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports. Patients in need of specialized ankle, hip, knee and shoulder care are encouraged to call (205) 228-7600 to schedule an appointment. Starting August 30, 2021, Dr. Hyde will be available to see patients in Birmingham at 1801 Gadsden Highway and in Hoover at 118 Mars Hill Road.
As a specialty-trained sports medicine surgeon, Dr. Hyde specializes in a wide variety of advanced procedures and techniques to effectively diagnose and treat injuries and conditions of the ankle, hip, knee and shoulder. His expertise includes:
- ACL reconstruction.
- Ankle, hip, knee and shoulder arthroscopy.
- Partial and total knee replacement.
- Shoulder replacement.
- Ultrasound-guided injections.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, Dr. Hyde remained at this university to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery. Following his residency, Dr. Hyde underwent extensive specialty training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville through a sports medicine fellowship. He is an active member of the Alabama Orthopedic Society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
