What Is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a technique in which a fine needle is used to penetrate the skin, subcutaneous tissues, and muscle, with the intent to mechanically disrupt tissue. This process targets trigger points and tight muscles, helping to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve mobility.
Our experts use dry needling to treat common conditions, including:
- Low-back and neck pain
- Knee pain or osteoarthritis
- Shoulder pain or rotator cuff injury
- Muscle strains
- Tennis elbow/golfer’s elbow
- Overuse injuries (i.e., tendonitis)
Dry needling is an effective therapy that provides multiple benefits for muscle recovery and pain relief, including:
- Decreased pain – Reduces pain signals and regulates inflammation chemicals
- Increased blood flow – Boosts oxygen and blood circulation to the treated area for faster recovery
- Improved range of motion – Eases muscle tightness and tension, improving flexibility
- Promoted muscle healing – Stimulates the body’s natural healing process
Dry Needling with Exercise
Our experts combine dry needling with a personalized exercise program to enhance the overall effectiveness of your treatment. While dry needling can help reduce pain, relieve muscle tension, and improve circulation, studies have shown that it is even more effective when paired with targeted exercises. This combination not only addresses the immediate discomfort and muscle tightness but also promotes long-term recovery by strengthening the muscles, improving flexibility, and preventing future injuries.
